Empowered to Innovate

26th April 2021 @ 13:00-14:00

This inspirational session will be the first in an occasional series to help your business excel at innovation. Over the course of the following months, there will be one-hour online sessions looking in-depth at a number of aspects. These will include topics such as Financing, R&D Tax credits, Protecting IP and Strategy.

The first session will include talks by Dr Allen Alexander of University of Exeter and Tannuvi Ethunandan and Erin Morris of Data Duopoly.

Dr Allen Alexander will explain the principles of innovation readiness and the team from Data Duopoly will inspire you by sharing their own story of successful innovation. The talks will take around 45 minutes and there will be time for questions and discussion.

Dr Allen Alexander is a senior researcher at University of Exeter Business School in Cornwall. Studying innovation in different forms across the world has enabled him to develop a unique understanding of capabilities that enable firms to launch new products and services again and again.  His prior engineering career has also helped him to team up and research alongside colleagues in the Marine & Maritime Renewable Technologies, amongst other areas. He has been awarded the Global Innovation Fellowship 2019-2021 by the International Society for Professional Innovation Management.

Data Duopoly is an innovative company revolutionising the visitor experience in venues worldwide through the use of technology. A start-up company from Falmouth University’s Launchpad programme, they have been named as one of the regional winners of Tech Nation’s annual Rising Stars competition, which recognises the most exciting early-stage tech companies from across the country.
