Marine-i is now closed to businesses. Find out more about the project success here.

Marine-i is an ambitious programme designed to enable innovation in the marine technology sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The sector has been identified as an area of high growth potential for the region.

We are forward-looking and we want to help businesses embrace the emerging opportunities that will define the global marine sector to 2030 and beyond.

At Marine-i, we are focussing on four interconnected themes: marine energy, marine manufacturing, maritime operations and marine environmental technologies. We are here to stimulate and support research, development and innovation (RD&I) to help businesses exploit new market opportunities.

The first Marine-i programme ran from 2017-end of 2019 and the current programme runs from Spring 2020 – 2023.

Our collaboration can help your business grow by supporting you with world class academic research, specialist expertise, outstanding test facilities, subsidised graduate placement and more. Marine-i will help you take your product idea to the next level by enabling comprehensive Research, Development and Innovation. We will help you take your idea to the stage where a product can be demonstrated and taken to market.

Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the project brings together expertise and key infrastructure from our partners: University of Exeter, University of Plymouth, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, The Cornwall College Group, Cornwall Marine Network and Cornwall Council.
