Marine-i led and galvanised business-led and market-driven Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) over the six years 2017 - March 2023.

The programme accelerated development of innovative product ideas, working closely with marine tech businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to take their products to the next stage of commercialisation. Marine-i helped businesses to grow by providing grant funding, business assistance, academic research, test facilities, subsidised graduate placement and more.

The world class RD&I expertise, outstanding test facilities and the support available through the Marine-i partnership enabled the development of new products and services, opening global market opportunities for many Cornish businesses.

“Marine-i has been a champion of marine tech in Cornwall and Scilly, spanning autonomous vessels to environmental protection and clean growth. We are particularly indebted for their support in developing the potential for floating offshore wind technology in our region, which we believe could be transformative for coastal communities in our area and make a huge contribution to achieving our goal of a net zero carbon economy by 2030.”

The Marine-i project is now closed to businesses. You can continue to see information about the project, including its case studies and news archives on this website.
